CityBusiness Best Places to Work

Rent-A-Nerd, Inc. is incredibly pleased to have been selected one of the 2015 CityBusiness Best Places to Work. Darrin, my husband and Rent-A-Nerd’s founder, and I are humbled by this honor and truly credit our talented and dedicated staff, as they represent our company with professionalism at all times. It is therefore a pleasure to create as congenial a work environment as possible. We are one of only fifteen small businesses to be honored this year.

According to New Orleans CityBusiness,

Honorees are chosen based on a questionnaire of benefits offered, including average salary, health care, paid time off and employee programs, coupled with an online survey of employees.

Although we are a small, locally-owned business, we strive to provide our employees with the benefits of working for a large company, while still maintaining a comfortable, low stress place to work. This means that we offer competitive salaries and benefits, a generous amount of accrued time off, and access to training so that each employee can continue to reach their maximum potential. And we think that the longevity of our employees’ tenure speaks for itself–several employees have been with us since Darrin first began hiring staff members, and in general most have been with us for ten or more years. Rent-A-Nerd offers careers, not simply jobs. And being selected a 2015 CityBusiness Best Places to Work honoree just reinforces that goal.

Another aspect of our firm that I think makes us stand apart from others is that our technicians form personal relationships with our clients. We hear rave reviews about each of our technicians from our clients because our techs truly do care about doing a good job, and doing so efficiently and with the least amount of disruption to our clients. In fact, much of the work that we do to keep our clients’ IT systems running is done behind the scenes, so issues are infrequent (and nearly always fixed before they become problems). Therefore, we have a very high level of client satisfaction. And, when you have happy clients, you have happy employees!
